We’re looking for reliable, hands-on team members to join our Production Team
(General Crew).
This role is essential to making the event happen, supporting the setup,
operation, and tear-down of our sublet space, including lighting, sound, visuals, and
music elements.
If you enjoy behind-the-scenes work, teamwork, and bringing creative spaces to life, this
role is for you.
The Production Department is responsible for the physical and technical execution of
the event space. The General Crew supports all production sub-departments by
assisting with setup, breakdown, and on-site needs.
This role focuses on execution and support, not design or leadership.
Positions Available: the number of people selected is based on the team's capacity.
Role and Responsibilities
- Supporting set up and breakdown of:
- Lighting equipment
- Sound systems
- Visual displays / screens / projections
- Music and Sound-related equipment
- Helping move, lift, and organize equipment and materials.
- Following instructions from Production Leads and Department Heads.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work environment.
- Being available during key production windows (load-in / load-out).
Requirements
- Reliable and punctual.
- Comfortable with physical work (lifting, standing, moving equipment).
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Willing to help where needed across lighting, sound, visuals, and music.
- Available during set up and tear down periods.
- Team players with a positive attitude.
- Willing to work in a fast pace environment.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in: Event production, stage hand/ crew work; lighting, sound or visual equipment.
- Familiarity with basic AV equipment.
- Calm under pressure and adaptable to last-minute changes.
- Interest in live events, performance, or production work.
Expected Process
- Written Application – Candidates will complete a written application.
- Virtual Interview (1x) – A one to one online interview to discern calling, character,availability, and alignment with Upper Room’s mission and values.
- Prayerful Discernment & Reference Check (if applicable) – The leadership team prayerfully reviews applications and may contact a pastor or spiritual leader for reference.
- Acceptance & Onboarding – Accepted members complete orientation and training,including evangelism approach, follow-up strategy, and safeguarding guidelines.
